Site News: Nintendo Life Turns 20 Today!
3+ week, 1+ day ago (1054+ words) Wow, where to start? It's official, though. It's been 20 years since I sat down and cobbled together the somewhat infamous 'Our Nintendo Life Begins' article back in late 2005, a world before iPhones, iPads, Fortnite, and YouTube wasn't even a year old yet. How times have changed. Both generally and specifically, the video game industry. When I wrote that first article, we were technically still in the GameCube era. I had really enjoyed my brief stint putting together 'GameCube UK', a website all about (you guessed it) GameCube in 2001-2002. Then, with the Nintendo 'Revolution' on the horizon, I was getting the itch to get back into running a website about games, and Nintendo Life was born. Back when the site turned 10, I penned an article that details the early years of Nintendo Life, if you are interested in that. The site's…...

This is perhaps not as high as the company would like, but then the game's performance over in Japan will likely more than make up for it " more on that later in the week. Otherwise, it's mostly business as usual this week, with several Switch and Switch 2 titles making the top ten. Hiroshi Yamauchi Might Feel Envious Of Switch 2's Success, Says Miyamoto
3+ week, 2+ day ago (463+ words) Nintendo has released the English translation of its recent financial Q&A session, and it mostly covers the company's plans for the Switch 2, its games, and potential movies going forward " lots of stuff we already know about, to be honest. One question, however, managed to raise a smile on our otherwise stone cold faces, and its regarding the late president of Nintendo, Hiroshi Yamauchi, who passed away in 2013 at the age of 85. One attendee essentially asked what kind of comments Yamauchi would make if he were to evaluate the success of the Switch 2. Surprisingly, Shigeru Miyamoto said that Yamauchi might feel "a sense of envy" at the fact that the Switch 2's numbers are so high. Otherwise, he would remain humble and advise the company to "keep your feet on the ground and do the right thing". It's a nice…...

This time, we're looking at Dragon Power for the NES. Released in 1988, this was a top-down adventure game not entirely unlike Zelda II, in which you would explore environments before shifting to a side-scrolling viewpoint when facing off against enemies. It's said to be based on the Chinese novel Journey to the West in which a kung-fu protagonist is on a quest to recover the Crystal Balls. We've got North America, Europe, and Japan all vying for the prize today, so let's get cracking! Hahaaa, yes! Some of…...
